PROPOSAL
The topic an appraisal of the role of commercial bank in manufacturing industries has been death with special reference of first bank of Nigeria PLC. However the project is amend at enlightenment the general public about how far the commercial bank has contribute to the development and promoting business enterprise. To ensure adequate and logical flow of ideas finding conclusion and recommendation, the project work is divided into five chapters.
Chapter one is the introductory chapter, in this chapter the topic is introduced the background of the study, statement of the problem, aims and objective of the study, the definition of the concept and terms and plans organization of the study.

Chapter two is the lifted literature renew, historical background of banking system in Nigeria, the roles of commercial bank credit to manufacturing industries financing in Nigeria and bank interest rate and its effect on manufacturing industries in Nigeria.
Chapter three is the lifted to research methodology; here the origin and history of first bank of Nigeria, the data method of questionnaire and interview were critically analyzed. INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF STUDY
Banks in Nigeria have been credited with an enable images being an important source for the development. This recognition device mostly from the role of mobilizing, deposit and counseling them towards profitable investment out lets.
The investment as however, contributed positively to the development of Nigeria economy as a whole.
Bank serves as engine room of any country economy with Nigeria not being an exception. Banks are mostly concerned with making and receiving payment on behalf of their customers, accepting deposits and making shorter long term loan to private, individual, companies and other organizations.

It can be deduced from the above definition that a bank is a financial institution whose operation included receiving money, collecting of cheques, dealing in foreign currency exchange and payment of money both domestic and interactional and earn commission on these and services.
Banks play important to know the major problem facing banks in the discharge of these functions with a view of the payment solution to them. This is to make them more efficient and effective in their operation.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE STUDY PROBLEM
The research problems of this research study include the following:
What are the available facilities as of bank for manufacturing industries development of Nigeria economy?
(ii) What are the benefits the nations as a whole stand to gain if manufacturing industries are developed?
(iii)What bank stand to gain or benefit in its role in the manufacturing industries development of Nigeria economy?
1.3 OBJECTIVE AND AIMS OF THE STUDY
The objective and aim of this project is to identify and analysis the competitive strength and weakness of the first bank of Nigeria plc in area of manufacturing industries. In order to achieve the above aims the following specific objectives will be identified.
(i)To assess the general performance of banks in promoting the manufacturing industry growth.
(ii)To examine factors militating against competitiveness in the financial sector of the economy.
(iii)To recommend alternative strategies that could lead to the attainment of their desired objectives.
And to discuss this reason why facilities and services of need encouraged to function the manufacturing industries development to the Nigeria economy.
1.4Ā Ā SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The success of manufacturing industries in Nigeria lies on the expansion of commercial banks lending and stale macro āeconomic policy.
The study will therefore be of immense benefit to the commercial bank towards expansion of credit facilities to the commercial bank towards expansion of credit facilities to the manufacturing industries. Its will also be useful for government in formulating appropriate policy on manufacturing industries besides, it can also the used by other researcher in this area of interest.
