This study examine the business practice of multipurpose cooperative and their impact on individual members of establishing private business. Hence the scope of this study covers business practice of multipurpose cooperative and impact on individual members for establishing private business. A survey method was used for the study, 150 respondent were used in the study.
The respondents were members of multipurpose cooperative society limited. A 26 item questionnaire was based on likert 5 point scale. Four research questions were developed to guide the study, frequencies and percentages were used as statistical analysis, the research finding private business. Cooperative here member to acquire loan, provide members with inputs, cooperative education and training etc.
The finding also show that private industries participate in cooperative activities by pooling their resources together through skills acquisition programmes, etc. furthermore, the findings show that cooperatives are faced with certain problem which militate are inadequate capital, back of modern business techniques and improper record keeping to ameliorate the encouraging members to save more, election of honest and dedicated leaders proper record keeping etc.
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
A co-operative in an enterprise whose owners and at the same time customers and users of the facilities, goods and services provided. It is government by quality in social relations and equality in economics relations in members.
Co-operation is also a form of organization in which a person’s voluntarily associate as human being on the of equality for the economic interests of themselves with democratic control and any enticement or law of the country
Co-operation were structured in such a way as to exclude the profit motive in business, providing goods and services to owners and user at cost in a spirit of mutuality and self help
Co-operation society board and in so many forms ranging from thrift and credit, marketing co-operative, agricultural co-operative and consumer co-operative, etc. these co-operative society are becoming important and efficient in the mobilization of members funds through saving’s and allocating some funds to members for the organization and for the private business forward wealth creation.
Co-operative society is often regarded as one of the micro-finance institutions (MFIS) that promote entrepreneurship and institution desirable for economic development. Epetimenhim (2006) describe co-operative as a business owned and controlled by the who people who use its services for their mutual benefits.
Prior to now, co-operative have being operated locally or traditionally which could from traditional way of doing things to a modern way which coves co-operative in the aspect of human endeavor. The importance of this interest development cannot be overemphasized as many organization both the government and private business owned, set up a separate societies or issue.
The essence of   this is to promote the welfare of the members (Buden 2004). Considering the efficiency of some co-operative societies towards private business, this has become indeed a problems to the researchers to find out the devastating nature of these societies, their ability to organize and coordinate activates in a proper way towards establishment of private business.
Also to carry out most of their function as proposed in a manifestation of having factors in cooperative societies. As mentioned earlier, the importance of or the business practice of cooperative and their exacts on members prospects of private business cannot be over – emphasized as it another thing that bother stake holders which also creates an revenue to fund out the business practice to cooperative and their impact on individual members of private business. Again it is pertinent to the researcher to find   out how the private business industries participate in cooperative activities.
1.2Â Statement of the Problem
According to ICA(1995), cooperative of whatever type are arrange to satisfy members needs be it economic, political or cultural. The survival and efficiency are otherwise of members individual or private business in determined by their cooperative society. Cooperative societies are established mainly to render some certain services or functions to their members such as:
Credit facilities to enable with them establish productive or commercial business, marketing of members produce, provision of inputs and as well as providing information to members on interest development concerning their activities.

The ultimate aim of these functions is to accelerated members to wards establishing in private business enterprises. However the research is carryout to find out whether or not cooperative societies performs their functions for the purpose they are being established.
The reasons behind these funding is that level of privates business in one society from another due to poor funding, poor services embezzlement of funds etc (Thimodu, 1998). The research is therefore, is out of examine the business practice of multipurpose cooperative and their impact on individual members of prospects of privates business, how private business participate in cooperative activities, the problems that militate against cooperatives for establishing privates business sand as well proffer solution to their problems.
1.3Â Objectives of the Study
This study is carrying out specifically to certain the following objectives:-
To find out the business practice of multipurpose cooperative and their impact on individual members of prospects of private business.
To investigate how private business industries participate in cooperative activities
To examine the problems militating against multi-purpose cooperative for private business
1.4 Research Question.
The research questions are as follows:
what are the business practice of multi-purpose cooperatives and their   impact on individual members private business?
How do privates businesses participate in cooperative activities?
What are the problems militating against multi-purpose cooperatives on individual members privates business?
1.5 Significances of the Study
This study aims at examining the business practice of multipurpose cooperative and their impact on individual members prospect of private business. A study of this nature cannot be over emphasized as the government of cooperative department, corporate organizations involved in cooperative activities, multipurpose cooperative in particular which is the area of understudy in this research work and incoming students as well as others researcher alike will find this study really significant especially as they utilize the findings.
To the government cooperative department and cooperative corporate venture, the finding of this study will be used as a business for enacting policies that will effectively regulate the activities of multipurpose cooperative so that the essence of forming such societies cannot be defeated.
Furthermore, members of the public who are interested in cooperative will be the results of this study as an insight into the formation of new society’s especially multipurpose cooperative or forming existing ones.
It will contribute in creating more awareness in the inhabitants of the immediate community as regards to business practice of multipurpose cooperative and their impact on individual members prospect of private business in satisfying their economic needs.
To the private business, the results of this study will encourage privates business holders to realize the benefit such as credit facilities, marketing of members produce, supply of inputs among others derivable from joining cooperative.
Nevertheless, a study of this nature is of scholarly importance to students and other researches undergoing research works similar to this study as it will serve as a reference materials from their own research work.
1.6 Scope of the Study
This study is to examine the business practice of cooperative and their impact on individual members prospects of privates business.
Recently, the Nigeria economy is experiencing growth in various cooperative activities. Due to the growth and increasing number of those cooperative it is not going to be easy for researcher to conduct this study in all the cooperative society in Nigeria. This study or researcher work is going to be limited to only multipurpose cooperative society ltd in Kaduna of Kaduna state respectively.
The scope of the research work is to examine the business practice of multipurpose and their impact on individual members prospects of private business participate in cooperative activities, the problems that could be militating against the business practice of cooperative and their impact on individual members prospects of private business sand as well proffer solution to such problems.
