The Bayero University Kano (BUK) management has announced the cancellation of the 2019/2020 academic session and the resumption date for the commencement of academic activities for the 2020/2021 academic session.

BUK Resumption Date

The Senate of Bayero University Kano (BUK) on Monday approved the cancellation of 2019/2020 session for all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

According to a memo signed by the Registrar of the institution, Fatima Binta-Mohammed, the 2019/2020 session has been renamed to 2020/2021.

January 18, 2021, has been announced as the first-semester commencement date for the new academic session for undergraduates while the second semester will begin on May 3, 2021.

Postgraduates will start their first semester on January 18, while the second semester will begin on June 1.

Before ASUU embarked on strike in March 2020, BUK had already completed its mid-semester break for the first semester of 2019/2020 academic session for undergraduates, while the postgraduate students had just resumed for the session.
