Will the Ongoing ASUU Strike Affect 2020 Universities’ Post UTME and Admission?

Many of the 2020 prospective students into various Universities in Nigeria has continued to wonder if the ongoing ASUU strike will affect the 2020 Post UTME for all Nigerian higher institutions of learning.

So questions like is the ongoing ASUU strike going to affect the conduct of post UTME and admission exercise for 2020 by Universities? Will Universities conduct their post UTME exercise as Usual or there are going to be delay due to ASUU strike.

If you could remember, on 23rd of March 2020, ASUU embarked on strike over the non-payment of salaries of their members who failed to enroll into the federal government’s IPPIS, a payroll software mandated for all public officials. It is an indefinite strike and we do not say when the strike is likely to be called off. Its on this note that candidates want to know their fate.

Can ASUU Strike affect the Conducts of Post UTME – 2020?

The answer is YES…. Am sure this is not the kind of response you want to read, but sincerely, if the ASUU strike continue to be prolonged, it will not only affect academic activities but also Post UTME and other activities of the Universities.

Though, if the strike is so prolonged beyond the Universities may device a way to conduct the exercise in order not to delay admission exercise beyond reasonable doubt.

Can ASUU Strike affect Admission – 2020?

YES… if post UTME are not conducted on time, then the time for releasing admission list would be further delayed. So we hope the ongoing ASUU strike would not be prolonged in order for the academic programs of our universities not to be disrupted.
