Federal University of Technology, Akure, accepts direct entry applicants into its engineering faculty through so many means and we are going to discuss the admission requirements for each departments in the faculty.

O’level Requirements For Engineering

For any direct entry applicant to be eligible for admission, candidates must have a minimum of five credit pass in the General Certifcate of West Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or NECO or its equivalent at not more than two (2) sittings in the following subjects Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and English Language and any other relevant course for all engineering courses.

1) Futa Direct Entry Admission Requirements Into Agricultural And Environmental Engineering: Direct entry applicants in addition to the requirements specified above, candidates seeking admission to 200 level Agricultural And Environmental Engineering must possess:

(i) ND at Upper Credit Level or equivalent in Agricultural Engineering or related disciplines from recognized institutions; or.

(ii) Good passes at the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) or its equivalent in at least two of the following subject: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

2) Futa Direct Entry Admission Requirements Into Civil Engineering (FUTA)

In addition to the O level requirements, candidates seeking admission to 200 Level must possess:

(i)ND at Upper Credit Level ro equivalent in civil engineering or realted discipline from recognised institution , or

(ii)Good passes at the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) or its equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, andMathematics.

3) Futa Direct Entry Admission Requirements Into Electrical Electronic Engineering (FUTA)

In addition to the O level requirement,candidates seeking admission to the 200 levelmust possess:

i)ND with a minimum of upper credit level or its equivalent in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related discipline,OR

ii)Good passes at the Advanced level of General Certificate of Education or its equivalent in chemistry,physics and Mathematics.

4) Futa Direct Entry Admission Requirements Into Mechanical Engineering (FUTA)

In addition to the requirement specified for O level above, candidates seeking admission to second year (200 level) of the programme through direct entry must possess:   

(I) National Diploma at Upper Credit level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines from a recognized institution, or

(II) General Certification of Education (Advance level) or equivalent with good passes in at least two subject at a sitting which must include Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

However, admission to appropriate level shall be made on any other minimum entry qualifications as may be stipulated by the university.

5) Mettalogical and Material Engineering FUTA DE Admission Requirements

In addition to the O level admission requirements candidates seeking admission to 200-Level must possess:

(i) ND at Upper Credit Level or its equivalent, in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or related discipline in recorgnised institution; or

(ii) Good passes at the Advanced Level of General Certificate of Education or its equivalent in Chemistry,

Physics and Mathematics.

6) Mining Engineering Direct Entry Admission Requirements Futa

In addition to the O level admission requirements specified above, candidates seeking admission to the 200 level must possess:

(i)ND at Upper credit Level or its equivalent in Mining or Mineral Resources Engineering or related discipline from recognized institutions,OR

(ii)Good passes at the General Certificate of General Certificate of Education(Advanced level)or its equivalent in at least two  of the following subjects:Chemistry,Physics and Mathematics,

Points To Note: If you read carefully, you can see that Federal University of technology Akure (FUTA) does not accept lower credits for its engineering direct entry admission. So don’t waste you money and time by applying the school if you have lower credits.
