UNICAL Direct Entry Admission Requirements Into Faculty Of Art

Direct entry admission requirements into various departments in University of Calabar Faculty of Art.

1) Unical Direct Entry Into English and Literary Studies: Admission Requirements

• Candidates must possess Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits passes in subjects that must include Literature in English and English Language in not more than two sittings.
• Must be holders of N.C.E or H.S.C
• A/Level passes in two subjects to include Literature in English and one other Arts subject.
• A Three year duration of six semesters is designed for Direct Entry Candidates.

2) Unical Direct Entry Into History and International Relations: Admission Requirements

• Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes to include English Language, Government, History and one other Arts or Social Science Subject obtained in not more than two sittings.
• Must also be holders of two ‘A’ Level passes/NCE (Upper Credit) in History, Government and any other related subject
• Diploma in International Affairs/ Strategic Studies or related disciplines

3) Unical Direct Entry Into Religious Studies: Admission Requirements

• Five (5) ‘O’ Level credits to include English Language and one other Arts Subject in not more than two sittings. A credit in French is an advantage.
• Must possess an A/L in French and one other Arts Subject or a Diploma in Language
  Studies or an equivalent.

4) Unical Direct Entry Into Linguistics: Admission Requirements

• Must be holders of Five ‘O’ Level Credits to include English Language, Mathematics or a Science Subject.
•  Direct Entry Candidates are required to possess two ‘A’ Level passes in Arts, Social Science and Science subjects.
  OND/NCE (merit level) is also accepted.

5) Unical Direct Entry Into Religious Studies: Admission Requirements

Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language and Christian Religious Knowledge.

Must possess at least two ‘A’ Level passes to include Christian Religious Knowledge.

6) Unical Direct Entry Into Philosophy: Admission Requirements

1. Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language or equivalent, and also at least a pass in Mathematics.

2. Direct Entry Candidates must possess Five Credit level passes at ‘O’ Level, at least two of which must be at the ‘A’ Level.

7) Unical Direct Entry Into Theatre Arts: Admission Requirements

Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language and Literature in English.

Must possess at least two ‘A’ Level passes in Arts, Social Science or Science Subjects to include Literature in English.

Diploma in Mass Communication/Theatre Arts at merit level pass is also accepted for the 3 year programme.
