CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
This project of fabrication of single face pressurized kerosene cooker is a copied design.
It is a manually operated type of stove, which has the capacity of supplying heat energy at high and low temperature. The type of stove so designed here do the industrial type with one burner.
Since the introduction of this pressurized kerosene cooker many effort has been made in order to enhance the ability to function well.
Thus we undertook this project design and fabrication of a single pressurized kerosene stove as a copped design from the popular Japan product (Regular Structural Stove) using locally available material of a 4mm (thickness) sheet metal.
Thus demonstrating the realization and importance of copy technology.
CHAPTER TWO
LITERATURE REVIEW
Through the design and fabrication of pressurized kerosene stove does not exist as a separate entity.
That is to say that no text book has ever kerosene with or treated the fabrication of pressurized kerosene stove as a separate course but books are published which may give an account of the design and fabrication of metals.
The fabrication of a single face pressurized stove has difficult component parts, which consist of burner chamber, fuel (kerosene) container, the frame and the control knob.
2.1 HOW THE STOVE WORKS
The stove has two main parts, a fuel container and a burner unit, which is connected by a short fuel line (hydraulic flexible pipe). When the stove is in operation, fuel is forced from the fuel container into burner unit by pressure. The pressurized fuel container must be created using small pump device.
These pressure forces fuel (kerosene) through the fuel line and out through a small nozzle jet in the burner unit where it mixes with oxygen and is ignited. To burn efficiently, fuel must be ignited in its gaseous form.
Kerosene stove also required the use to white gas, alcohol or priming paste as a separate priming agent in order to facilitate vapourization.
ADVANTAGES OF KEROSENE STOVE
- Inexpensive
- Easy to find (Availability)
- High heat output
- Spilled fuel does not ignite easily
- Can be used in many multi-fuel stove
DISADVANTAGES
- Burns dirty and smelly
- Priming is required
- Spilled fuel evaporates slowly.
PRIMING
Priming is the process of igniting a small amount of stove fuel (other flammable substance) at the case of the burner unit to warm up the fuelβs path. Before the stove is lit this process watts up the burners, the fuel line and the generator, so that when the stove is first turned on liquid fuel will come out of the jet already atomized for easy lighting / burning.
Measuring the average boiling time can check the stove performance. Water boils per unit of fuel burn time it maximum flame weight, shape and size.
