ABU Distance Learning Courses and Admission Requirements
Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
- Any 5 OāLevel credits in no more than 2 sittings.*
- Applicants must possess NYSC certiļ¬cate (or exemption letter), especially for applicants under 30 years. Graduates from NOUN, other distance learning centers within or outside the country are exempted from this requirement.
- Bachelorās degree in any ļ¬eld with at least a second class lower or 2.40Cumulative Grade Point Average from any recognized University.
- Bachelorās degree in any ļ¬eld with 3rd class plus 5 years post-graduation experience or a Third class with Post Graduate Diploma.
- HND holders from any recognized Polytechnic with a minimum of Lower Credit who are holders of either a Post Graduate Diploma or any recognized professional certiļ¬cates such as ANAN, ACIB and ACA etc., may be considered.

B.Sc Business Administration
Non-Direct Entry
- Any 5 OāLevel credits in no more than 2 sittings*
Direct Entry
- Satisfy the OāLevel requirements and have 2 AāLevel passes at the IJMB Examination or Cambridge Moderated Schools or Basic Studies Terminal Examination.
- Satisfy OāLevel requirements and have an A.B.U. Diploma with Merit or Lower Credit in Insurance, Accounting or Banking and Finance.
- Satisfy the OāLevel requirements and have another B.Sc irrespective of the course of study and grade.
- Satisfy the OāLevel requirements and have a professional certiļ¬cation such as ICAN, ACA, NIM etc.
- All OND Candidates will be admitted into 200 Level
- Candidates with HND in Business Administration will be admitted into 300 Level, while all other HND candidates will be admitted into 200 Level

B.Sc Public Administration

Candidates who possess the following qualiļ¬cations are eligible for admission into the programme:
- Higher National Diploma (HND)
- Bachelorās, Masters or Doctorate degree in any ļ¬eld

BNSc Nursing Science
Direct Entry
- Registered Nurse Certiļ¬cate (with Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria)
- 5 credits OāLevel credits including Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sittings.

B.Sc Accounting
Non- Direct Entry
- Candidate must have ļ¬ve (5) O/Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.
- JAMB: Use of English, Economics, Mathematics and any Management or Social Science subject.
Direct Entry
- Candidates are expected to have a minimum of ļ¬ve (5) O/Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.
- At least two (2) A/Level passes in Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Statistics, Government and Geography are required.
- In addition, a Diploma in Accounting, Banking or Insurance with a minimum of Merit Pass from Ahmadu Bello University is acceptable.

- Five āOā level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two subjects among (Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Computer Science/Data Processing).
- JAMB: Use of English, Mathematics, and any two of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Geography.
Direct Entry
- āAā level/IJMB passes in English, Mathematics and any of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, Geology and Data Processing/Computer.
- NCE in Computer Science and any of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Geology.
- National Diploma (ND) in Computer Science with Upper Credit in addition to O/L requirements.
- ABU Diploma in Computer Science with a minimum of merit grade in addition to O level requirements.

B.Sc International Studies
Non- Direct Entry
- Five āOā level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Government or History and any other two Social Science subjects from Economics, Commerce, Civic Education and Geography.
- JAMB: Use of English, Government/History, Economics and any other subject, preferably French or Arabic
Direct Entry
- Two āAā level /IJMB passes which must include Government/History and anyone from Economics, Sociology and Geography.
- ABU Diploma in Political Science and International Studies with a minimum of Merit grade.

- Two āAā level /IJMB passes in Sociology and any other subject from Government/History, Economics, Geography.
- ABU Diploma in Social Works and Development Studies with a minimum of Merit grade.

Master in International Aļ¬airs and Diplomacy (MIAD)
To qualiļ¬ed for this programme, candidates need to be a university graduate with a minimum of Second Class Lower Degree (2.2), in addition with;
- A Third Class Degree candidate must have fulļ¬l 5 years waiting period.
- NYSC Discharge or Certiļ¬cate of Exemption/Exclusion.
- Senior Secondary Certiļ¬cate (SSCE), General Certiļ¬cate in Education (GCE) Ordinary Level, National Examination Council (NECO). Credit passes in at least ļ¬ve subjects, two of which MUST be in English language and Mathematics obtained in not more than two sittings

Master in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (MLCJ)
Candidates who are eligible for admission into the programme are expected to have:
- A minimum of 2nd class Bachelorās degree from a recognised University
- Hold a 3rd class Bachelorās degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant working experience.

Master In Information Management (MIM)
- All candidates must possess the basic university entry requirement of ļ¬ve credit passes, including English and Mathematics at Oā Level.
- Bachelorās degree in any ļ¬eld of study with at least a second class lower or 2.40 Cumulative Grade Point Average from Ahmadu Bello University or any recognized University.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Information Management (PGDIM) from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) only.

Master In Public Administration (MPA)
First degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Local Government and Development Studies, Economics, Sociology or History with a minimum of 2.2 or third class degree with ļ¬ve (5) years post-graduation experience.
- NYSC Discharge or Certiļ¬cate of Exemption/Exclusion
- Any First degree with a minimum of 2.2 or HND with a minimum of Merit grade plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA) from ABU.
- Five Oā Level credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and any other one.
*If you do not have credits in Mathematics, English, or any other required course for your programme of choice, you will be required to sign an undertaking stating that before graduation, you will provide results with credit in the deļ¬cient subjects to fulļ¬ll your admission requirements.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)
The criteria for admission into the PGDM programme will be as follows:
- O/Level Requirements: Minimum of Five (5) credits in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, GCE, SSCE, including English and Mathematics;
With
- Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized Polytechnic with a minimum of lower credit/merit;
Or
- Holders of any degree from a recognized University with a minimum of third class.

Master in Public Health (MPH)
- Candidates with a basic professional degree in Medicine (MBBS) from Ahmadu Bello University or other recognised universities are to be considered primarily.
- Where vacancy exists in line with the NUC BMAS professionals in related disciplines such as Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Education, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Environmental Health, Anatomy, Human Physiology, and other health-related disciplines will be considered.
- The candidate must also have at least a Second Class Lower (2.2) degree from Ahmadu Bello University or any other recognised Universities.
