ABSTRACT
Cloud technology provides computation, software, data access, and storage services that do not require end-user knowledge of the physical location and configuration of the system that delivers the services. Parallels to this concept can be drawn with the electricity grid, wherein end-users consume power without needing to understand the component devices or infrastructure required to provide the service.
Cloud technology describes a new supplement, consumption, and delivery model for IT services based on Internet protocols, and it typically involves provisioning of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources.
It is a byproduct and consequence of the ease-of-access to remote computing sites provided by the Internet. This may take the form of web-based tools or applications that users can access and use through a web browser as if the programs were installed locally on their own computers.

CHAPTER ONE
1.0 INTRODUCTION
i-Cloud (the successor to MobileMe) is a cloud storage and cloud computing service from Apple Inc. announced on June 6, 2011 at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The service allows users to store data such as music files on remote computer servers for download to multiple devices such as iPhones, iPods, iPads, and personal computers running Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows. It also replaces Apple’s MobileMe program, acting as a data syncing center for email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, notes, to-do lists, and other data.
1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
I always figured the Finance industry would be the last to embrace cloud. After all, if there’s even a hint of IT security risk, the world of stocks, money and investing would have a very hard time making the leap from on premise software to cloud.
1.2 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
Cloud computing is a natural evolution of the widespread adoption of virtualization, service-oriented architecture, autonomic, and utility computing. Details are abstracted from end-users, who no longer have need for expertise in, or control over, the technology infrastructure “in the cloud” that supports them.
