JAMB CAPS is known as Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). This is crated towards ensuring quality control, transparency and credibility of the admission process.
It is a new innovation by JAMB and the system is such that institutions can only admit those who meet their cut off points. If a candidate fails to meet the cut off mark, that student would certainly be denied admission.

CAPS makes provision for a ‘market place’ in the JAMB portal where institutions can go and ‘request for students in Nigeria who score their cut off points.
How does CAPS give admission to Students?
The JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) gives admission on the basis of merit and to the first choice applicants alone.
After writing UTME, the institution keeps your score in their database. Then your school of choice sends your post UTME result to JAMB. Then JAMB will consider your UTME score, your Post UTME score and your O’level result uploaded during registration.
If qualified, JAMB will offer you admission through CAPS. Where you would be expected to accept or reject the offer. If accepted, your school will also release your name on the institution’ website.
How to Accept / Reject Admission Offer on JAMB CAPS
For you to check whether you have been offered admission through JAMB CAPS, kindly follow the procedures below to check your admission status on JAMB CAPS.
- Visit the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal at http://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility/.
- Login with your registered Email and Password.
- Locate and click on ‘Check 2018 UTME/DE Admission Status on CAPS‘.
- Select ‘Admission Status‘ on the left panel.
- Click on check admission status.
- You can now accept/reject your admission offer under ‘Admission Profile’.

How to Accept JAMB CAPS Admission?
Immediately after checking your CAPS admission status sing the above, check the right hand side to either accept or reject the admission offer on JAMB portal.

If you clicked on reject, then it means you don’t need the admission offered. So be careful.
