The automatic 200watt lighting system was designed so as to facilitate the problem of electricity in the offices, workshop and house hold appliance due to the unstable power supply from PHCN. The method adopted in the design of this project is by finding all the design specification which include various protecting stages and function-able areas are incorporated to provide a more reliable and lasting system the automatic power supply system was able to supply power to about 250watt given it a tolerance of 50 watt and various test were carried out and the construction shows fit to withstand the load at it capacity.

INSTRODUCTION
To study the construction of an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) , to a lay man or even a professional such as doctor or business administrator who had little or no knowledge of modern electronics. Uninterrupted power supply could simply be though as a domestic light connected to electronic component.
Thus it has become very necessary to give a general and brief description and to introduce any reader of the report book to what uninterrupted power supply is all about.
Uninterrupted power supply is though a means of generating voltage for domestic purpoe which is achieved by employing MOSFET fired inverter principle. 4047BE IC was used as pulse generator the positive input source of the IC are pin 4,5,6 and 14 while the negative input source are pin 7,8,9 and 12.
The IC is generating frequency through C1 and R1 which are timing components (RC circuit) and the output is going out through pin 10 and 11. The output is 50Hz through pin 10 and 11 when 473PF capacitor and 100KW resistor are used.
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
In an uninterrupted power supply, there are capacitor, resistor, transistors, transformer, LEDs, battery, diodes in the circuit the battery run down when not charged and LEDs burns up when voltage of the battery is too full. So the need for being careful so as not to allow any of the components damage during construction is very necessary.
The study of the circuit diagram of different electronic components were reviewed in order to understand the principle behind their design and construction of the uninterrupted power supply gadgets.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
It has been observed that light goes OFF in Nigeria without notice and one can be very busy either at home or in the office using the power supplied from PHCN before it goes OFF, instead of keeping what ever he/she is doing at the moment waiting for light from PHCN, or even to an extent that one may think of using candle that can consume very fast, with the help of uninterrupted power supply the work can continue.
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
This project was designed so as to facilitate the problem of electricity in the offices, workshops and house hold appliance due to the unstable power supply being supplied by PHCN usually supplied to us.
With help of the uninterruptible power supply we don’t need to depend much on PHCN, it is stress free because of does not need someone to change it over when light goes OFF, once there is any power failure it will automatically switched on and when power comes back it will switch OFF and start changing the battery,
Another interesting thing is that the uninterrupted power supply system does not require any external charger for charging the battery when it goes low, it have already an inbuilt charger inside the uninterruptible power supply when there is light will be charging the battery.
METHDOLOGY
The methods adopted for this project was as follows:
References
Studying the circuit diagram
Modification of circuit diagram to suit the project requirement
Determination of components value
Assembling the components
Testing of the complete project
Writing of project report and submission of practical work.
REFERENCES
In reference, some relevant textbooks were studied and a number of learned electrical engineers were consulted in order to have a detail understanding of the working principle of the uninterruptible power supply system. The design aspect was critically studied from the reference made and the approaches adopted were studied.
STUDY OF THE CIRCUIT DIAGAM
Circuit diagram of different electronic equipment were reviewed in order to understand the principle behind their design and constructed of the uninterrupted power supply system in general.
MODIFICATION OF CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
The existing circuit diagram of the uninterruptile power supply otherwise known as automatic backup lighting system was studied in depth and simple analysis were done in order to be able to make more discovery of the working principle in greater details.
DETERMINATION OF COMPONENT VALUES
Each component value was calculated in order to the project specifications. In some cases, the calculated or recommended value may not be available in the market as such preferred values were considered in the course of the designing of the project.
ASSEMBLING
Following the circuit diagram, the components were arranged on a veroboard soldering each in turn. A trainer was used to ascertain the correctness of the circuit before the final soldering is carried out.
MEASUREMENT/TESTING
The determined value and expected voltage at the input depend on the capacity of the project specification needed but for the purpose of this practical work. A12V battery was used; this was measured using the voltmeter. After the project has been completed, it was tested by switching the switch ON and allowing the bulbs ON for some time.
WRTING OF PROJECT REPORT AND SUBMISSION OF PRACTICAL WORK
The writing of this project report was carried out immediately the practical work has been done. Though in the course of the practical work, some report in the form of note were jutted down. These include observation and discoveries, methodology etc. all which had been compiled to write this report book.
SCOPE OF THE STUDY
This is to designed a backup light that will light on or supply some electrical/electronic appliances in a particular room or offices to enable work to be accomplished before PHCN brings it supply back whenever there is any power outage.
REPORT OUTLINE
