ABSTRACT
Conflict resolution in any business organization is an important aspect in the running of any organization: Various techniques exist for the effective resolution of minor and major conflict in an organization.
The importance of a proper understanding of conflict resolution techniques steems from inherent and inevitable nature of conflict. Thus, this research focused on the organization, nature and pattern of conflict, its sources, effects on organization and suggested solutions with emphasis on Auchi polytechnic Auchi as a case study.
Attempts were made in this research to look at the effective conflict resolution in business organization previous literature relating to the subject matter. Primary and secondary methods were used to collect data.
Include the questionnaire and interview. The stratified sampling was used to select the sample while the chi-square statistical method was used to test the hypothesis.
At the end, it was discovered, among others that a positive correlation exists between confrontation and consensus techniques and effective conflict management in the organization.
It is therefore concluded that conflict is an inherent and inevitable phenomena in any organization and also a major determinants of an organizational growth and survival.

1.1 Background to the Study
The world is dynamic; as changes have become daily Occurrence. The business environment is not left out of these changes. The century has witnessed tremendous growth in the business sector (both in private and public) and the growth can be attributed to Technological and Social advancement.
One of the most important facts in the development and expansion of business is the human factor. The work force in any organization is made up of human being, which in turn coordinates other resources towards the achievement of organizational goal and objectives.
